Crownwork® Butterfly Orange Sapphire Earrings
Stunning 18k Yellow Gold crownwork® open butterfly earrings. The inspiration for the jewelry in the butterfly series is the mighty Monarch Butterfly, in particular when they are in flight. These earring are fluted on the sides to simulate this. The focus of these earrings is on the wings, hence the elimination of a body in the design.
The center focus of these earrings is pave orange sapphire center stones set in oxidized silver. Oxidized silver has a beautiful historic feel for jewelry and is a wonderful contrast to the gold. It looks rich and strong and as a setting material it’s soft and easy to pave set the stones in deep. When it’s oxidized it is really polished black so the stones pop with rich saturated color and look luxurious.
