This is a multi strand pearl bracelet capped with 18k small Crownwork® finial and diamond set toggle, finished in high polish. The pearl strands add a different dimension to the wrist which makes this bracelet a fun wear. The design inspiration for the finials are the Moores in Spain. It’s my translation of the columns in the Alluhumbra Palace. The design is a very old world form that fits jewelry perfectly and I use it in many configurations throughout the collection
Pearls are a mixture of mineral and organic material formed within the soft living tissue of a shelled mollusk. When dirt gets inside the shell, it is an irritant to the pearl. The pearl releases albite, the saliva that glues onto the pearl to smooth it out. In the spirit of the modern classics, faceted explores the diamond-like qualities of the pearl in a literal way – in treating pearls with diamond cutting techniques and thus allowing light to penetrate their inner surface it exposes their organic beauty within. The properties of pearls include purity, honesty, integrity and wisdom so they have the feel good factor when you wear them. They are the birthstone for June babies and for Gemini’s and Cancers. They are the traditional wedding anniversary present for 6 years.
