Rose Gold Gypsy Ring with Pear Shaped Diamond

This was a design partnership with Choices, Pittsburgh.

The original piece was the client's mothers from the 1970s. The ring had been with her for some time, left unworn. She wanted to do something spectacular with the heirloom piece so she could wear it effortlessly every day.

The original diamond was removed, polished and checked for quality. Next, Ray entered the design stage informed by the pear shape of the diamond he designed a gypsy band in the clients favorite precious metal - rose gold. Ray decided to cast in 20k rose gold as the material has a mesmerizing color and is most durable for construction and longterm wear. The diamond was then set by an expert setter and polished and finalized here in our New York studio.

“Jewelry is something that takes a long time to get right. Integrating technical skills into one’s own sense of style and design occurs over time. Jewelry isn’t seasonal, it’s evolutionary.”
