Behind the Design of the Mesopotamia-Inspired Hoops
A visit to the Met a few years ago sparked a design idea that squirreled itself inside my brain and then manifested into our new fabulous hoops. The exhibition that struck a chord with me featured some incredible pieces from Mesopotamia - the sophisticated craftsmanship and enduring elegance spoke to me.
I've always been drawn to the intricate details of ancient metalwork. The way ancient artisans achieved visual impact while maintaining wearability mirrors my own philosophy with crownwork®.
This inspiration led to our newest collection of hoops. I've incorporated elements that echo these ancient forms and reimagined them in three-dimensional earrings that capture their richness while remaining light on the ear.
What fascinates me most is how these ancient pieces weren't just decorative - they were integral to identity and daily life, much like how we wear jewelry today. In creating these new pieces, I wanted to capture that same sense of everyday luxury, where beautiful craftsmanship becomes part of your daily story.
