Carved Kingman Turquoise Pendants - Fun Facts
Behind the Design of our Carved Turquoise Pendants
The turquoise is from the legendary Kingman Turquoise Mine near Kingman, Arizona, one of the oldest and largest turquoise mines in the US.
We source these from a Turquoise dealer who explained the carving process to us. Each design starts with hand carving, then a negative mold captures every tiny detail. Using this mold, copper stamps are created for each design. The magic happens when the copper plate gets placed on top of the stone in an ultrasonic machine. The design is carved right into the turquoise using sound waves
Once we have the stones in the studio we set them in our signature 18K yellow gold Crownwork® frames, and the combo is fabulous. The warm gold really brings out those punchy turquoise colors and makes them pop like crazy.
Those etched bales open and close securely, so you can wear these beauties on ALL your chains. Short chain for brunch? Long chain for festival season? Layered with your other favorites? Yes, yes, and yes!
Turquoise is pretty chill but needs a little TLC. Gentle cleaning with a soft cloth, store them safely away from harder stones, and maybe skip the pool parties. Treat them right and they'll be your go to pieces forever.
These pendants are very limited and every one produced is one of a kind.
