This is a 18k yellow gold Crownwork® Regency ring with bezel set Burmese moonstone center stone and pave black diamond surround. This is Ray’s take on a classic British Regency Ring, he loves making these rings because they are extremely comfortable, timeless and very chic. The shank is arched to fit over the webbing on the finger, so it sits close to the knuckle on the hand and elongates the fingers. Oxidized silver has a beautiful historic feel for jewelry ( think Austro-Hungarian empire ) and is a wonderful contrast to gold. It looks rich and strong and as a setting material it’s soft and easy to bezel stones in deep. When it’s oxidized it is really polished black so the stone pop with rich saturated color and look luxurious.
Moonstone is a member of the feldspar mineral family. Its an opalescent stone that can be found in colorless form as well as peach, pink, green, grey, yellow, brown and blue – and it has a beautiful mystic quality! Diamond is a very precious gemstone, diamonds take billions of years to form deep within the Earth’s crust under conditions of intense heat and pressure that cause carbon atoms to crystallise, forming diamonds.
